If you are unable to send or receive emails and you are getting an error about "connection to the server has failed", it is most likely due to one of the two possibilities below:
  • You are not connected to the internet
  • Your email software needs a restart

First, let's make sure you are connected to the internet:
  1. Open your Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox web browser
  2. Try visiting www.yahoo.com
  3. If the page opens, then you are connected to the internet
  4. If the page does not open, then you are not connected to the internet
If you are not connected to the internet, you will need to contact your internet service provider or your computer technician.

If you are connected to the Internet, then you'll need to try closing and re-opening your Microsoft Outlook / Outlook Express email software and trying to send/receive emails again. If you still have the same error, please shut down your computer and try again later.

If the error continues to persist, please contact technical support.
