Amazon’s preparing for the upcoming Christmas shopping season – but you’ll need an Apple Device to try out their new AR feature
Just select the item, point your phone (for now, they only support Apple devices) towards the section of your home where you would want to place it, and their app will show you what it looks like.
For now, the Amazon app isn’t perfect – reports are coming in that it’s a little slow and the pictures “jump” a bit. But what it does do is already give you a feeling of what next generation shopping will be like.
AR shopping features aren’t new – IKEA has been experiment with AR for a few years and their app, IKEA PLACE, allows you to picture what a piece of furniture would look like in your living room.
