How to set up an email account on an iPhone

Before You Begin

You should already have an email address that has been created for you in your website control panel. If you do not know how to do this, send us a support Ticket and request for an email address. If your domain is "peterandsons.com", you can request for an email address like contact@peterandsons.com.

You will need the following information ready:

  • Username: your full email address
  • Password: your email account password
  • Incoming Mailserver Hostname: mail.yourdomain.com
  • Outgoing Mailserver Hostname: mail.yourdomain.com

Getting Started

  1. In the Home screen, tap Settings
  2. Then choose "Mail, Contacts, Calendars"
  3. In the Accounts section, choose "Add Account"
  4. Choose "Other"




  5. Choose "Add Mail Account" under the Mail section
  6. Enter your name and email address.
  7. Enter your full email address as your username & your password
  8. Under Incoming Mail Server, make sure your Host Name is mail.yourdomain.com



  9. Under Outgoing Mail Server, your Host Name is mail.yourdomain.com

  10. Tap Save. Your iPhone will then verify your account information.
  11. When its successfully completed, you will be taken back to the Mail screen and your email account will now be listed.

Help! I get a "Cannot verify server identity" screen

If a blue window appears with this error message:

  1. Tap the DETAILS button
  2. Tap the ACCEPT button on the top right corner
  3. The "Verifying" screen will appear
  4. You should then be able to add the account

Help! I can't send out emails

If you have trouble sending out emails, then try this instead:

  1. In the Home scren, tap Settings
  2. Tap Mail
  3. Choose the account that is having trouble sending emails
  4. Tap on the Outgoing Mail Server
  5. Double check that the Outgoing Mail Server Hostname to "mail.yourdomain.com"
  6. Double check that your Username is your FULL email address (example: you@yourdomain.com)
  7. Slide "Use SSL" so that it is switched off
  8. Ensure that Authentication is set to Password
  9. Change the Server Port to 587
  10. Save and try to send emails again
